Two continuous improvement
services are offered that take information that is being collected
via the historians in the OPS products and use it for the purposes
of continuous improvement.
Process Analysis
| The
purpose of the Process Analysis service is to provide an independent
analysis of the paint line performance during the month. This
service includes:
• Preparation of run charts, pareto charts, x-bar –range
charts and histograms as appropriate for the process being
analyzed
• Analyze the data and provide a written analysis specifically
identifying negative trends, areas of concern and areas of
opportunities
|
|
 |
• This
report is printed in color and bound for easy reading
• A conference call with the paint line manager (or designee)
to review the information
• A site visit every 3-months to review in greater detail
the findings of the analysis |
Paint Line Optimization Team (PLOT)
| The Paint Line
Optimization Team facilitation service is a unique approach
that takes the expertise from the paint line staff and the
chemical and paint company representatives and directs it
to addressing issues that affect paint line performance.
This is a bottom-up approach (supported
from the top) that gains the buy-in from members at all levels
of the paint team. The efforts are directed to improving key
performance indicators that the paint department is responsible
to accomplish. These are normally critical business issues
such as first pass yield, cost per square foot, quality defects,
production efficiency and worker safety. |
|
 |
| The result
of the monthly efforts include an action plan to address strategic
and tactical issues necessary to improve performance with who
is accountable and when it is due to be complete. Each month
performance indicators are reviewed and discussed in the group
session. A Scoreboard is posted on the plant floor so results
are communicated to everyone. The minimum time frame commitment
for this service is 12 months. |
